So far I like Gamma the best for creating a slide presentation based on notes or text: https://gamma.app/ There is a free account with 400 AI credits (40 credits required for a presentation unless you add additional slides) to try out. There is a 10-slide limit with the free account. The subscription options do not seem too bad.
There is also SlidesAI.io plugin for Google Slides. The tool has a 4-star review rating and appears it would be good for creating classroom presentations. https://workspace.google.com/marketplace/app/slidesaiio_create_slides_with_ai/904276957168
