When Panorama was first enabled in Canvas, all YouTube videos—including those set as public or unlisted—were incorrectly flagged with the error “This YouTube video is not publicly available.” This led some faculty to believe they needed to make unlisted videos public, which was not the case. The error appeared regardless of a video’s status. (Private YouTube videos would not be viewable in Canvas at all, so the error was misleading.)
YuJa has since released a fix so that public and unlisted videos no longer trigger this error. To apply the fix, reprocess the page using the steps attached under Files or this post, Correct Panorama YouTube Errors in Canvas.
